In Genesis 18 the LORD appears to Abraham again, but this time in the form of 3 distinct persons. One of them Abraham seems to perceive to be the LORD Himself in human form, the other 2 seem to be the angels that will arrive at Sodom in Chapter 19. Abraham serves these heavenly visitors with a great sense of urgency, and leaves us a great picture of how we should be diligent servants of the Lord.

In the last half of the chapter we see both the justice and the grace of God as the LORD declares that He will not hide from Abraham what He is doing in bringing judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham's knowledge of God's impending judgment causes him to intercede on Lot's behalf. As Abraham steps through these requests, he sees more and more of God's grace. We can rest assured that God will not judge the righteous along with the wicked.
