Book of the Bible

Sermon Date

Before the book of Genesis will begin to focus in on Abram, and the development of the nation of Israel,  God gives a detailed account in Genesis 10-11 of how the whole earth was populated by Noah's three sons Shem, Ham and Japheth.

William F. Albright said the following about the Table of Nations:
‘It stands absolutely alone in ancient literature, without a remote parallel, even among the Greeks, where we find the closest approach to a distribution of people's in genealogical framework.... The Table of Nations remains an astonishingly accurate document.’

We are also given account of the Tower of Babel and how the nations were dispersed and given diverse languages. Man's plans and conspiracies to build a tower did not go unnoticed by God. God came down and put an end to man's attempt at a one world system, and He will do that yet again. When man conspires we should always remember that our God is seated on His throne and His council will stand!
